The Christ Apostolic Church International has commenced a celebration of the manifestation of the Holy Spirit in the form of a pillar of fire that historically occurred at Asamankese in Ghana in the 1920s.

According to the church history, the Holy Ghost fell upon an ancient church of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in a vivid form of fire to the amazement of the residents in the community as they thought the building had caught fire in reality, hence rushing to quench the fire which in the end resulted in the conversion of many of the people into becoming Christians.

This incident happened on 20th May, 1923 at Asamankese.

100 years later, the CAC is from today celebrating this spiritual move, therefore organizing programmes to commemorate the day.

Speaking in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, the current Chairman of the CAC, Apostle Samuel Amponsah Frimpong touted the significance of the day saying it is a time for revival.

He noted that the celebration is under a theme “Led by the pillar of fire” aimed at reviving Christians in the country.

“We need the guidance of the Holy Spirit,” he emphasized.

He charged all Christians to join the church to celebrate with them and further sold to Ghanaians the relevant role of Christianity in the development of Ghana.

“When you look at the kind of acceptance for democratic culture, peace and the kind of people leading Ghana, indeed God has blessed us . . . Christianity has contributed hugely to what we have become. We, however, believe all churches need more revival to do more for Ghana and our neighbouring countries,” he said.
