As many Ghanaians pour out their frustrations and anger over the worsening economic conditions in the country, the founder and General Overseer of the Action Chapel International, Arch Bishop Nicholas Duncan Williams has challenged Christians to keep praying for the nation.

According him, if Ghanaians follow the actions of politicians, ‘we won’t do what is expected of us as Christians,’ he noted.

‘I will continue praying for Ghana regardless of who is in power,’ the Arch-Bishop emphasized. The church leader made the comment at the maiden annual ‘Republic Day National Call to Prayer’ meeting in Accra on Wednesday.

The prayer session was held simultaneously in various regional capitals across the country.

Some of the country’s leading spiritual heads were at the prayer session at the Action Chapel, including the Catholic Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Gabriel Charles Palmer-Buckle, Reverend Dr Jacob Vanderpuije among others.

Reverend Steve Mensah who was also at the event spoke on the topic; ‘Prayers for Spiritual Deliverance of the land.’ Reverend Christie Doe Tetteh led prayers on the topic; ‘Prayers for Spiritual Revival in the land,’ while Reverend Nii Amponsah led a prayer for Ghana to be delivered from ‘disasters and calamities.’

Archbishop Charles Palmer-Buckle led prayers on the ‘general issues affecting citizens.’
