The founder of Perez Chapel International (PCI) Bishop Charles Agyinasare has urged city authorities to demolish all buildings in water ways to prevent Accra from flooding during rainy seasons.
According to Agyinasare, who made the comments during a sermon Sunday, people who sell lands in water ways must also be arrested and prosecuted.
His comments come after at least 200 lives were consumed in the GOIL filling station explosion and flood last Wednesday following a heavy downpour in Ghana’s capital Accra.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service, loose valves led to the spillage of fuel which caught fire during the flood.
Agyinasare in his sermon also called on Ghanaians to take the monthly clean up exercise serious and admonished that citizens must stop throwing waste in drains.
