OtumfuoMawerehene Baffour Osei Brentuo Hyiaman V, is expected to submit his nomination forms to contest for the upcoming Ashanti Regional Council of State election.
At least about twenty three (23) persons have so far picked nominations to contest for council of state membership for the Ashanti region.
The Electoral Commission opened nominations last week and has set tomorrow as deadline for filing.
The ages of the aspirants so far ranges between 21 and 92 years. The Ashanti Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Sirebuor Quaikoo has confirmed.
Notable among the aspirants are Tepamanhene Adusei Atwenewa Ampem, Agona Akrofonsohene, NPP’s Communicators Denis Kwakwa and Alex Ababio a broadcast Journalist with Kumasi base local radio station Lift FM.
Ultimate Fm’s Isaac Bediako reports that Nana Tepamanhene who is the majorcontender in the upcoming election may not submit his nomination after realizing Mawerehene has picked nominations forms to contest.
