Former Black Stars player Augustine Arhinful has called on Kumasi Asante Kotoko to take the special competition being organized by the Normalization Committee (NC) seriously as he believes it will help them as they venture into the Group Stage of this year’s CAF Confederations Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors after booking their place in the group stage, have been drawn in Group C where they face tough opposition from Al Hilal of Sudan as well as Zesco United and Nkana fc – both Zambian clubs.
Speaking to Class FM earlier today on the back of the draw, Augustine Arhinful shared that Kotoko should take advantage of the special competition in anticipation of their group stage matches.
“I believe this competition that the Normalization Committee is trying to organize, if it should come around I think it should come in handy for Kotoko. They should take it seriously in anticipation of playing the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup”, Arhinful said.
He has cautioned the Kumasi based club to be wary of the threat of the two Zambian clubs which he opines are very good teams.
“I watched Zesco play Kaizer Chiefs and believe you me they are a very good side. Nkana I have watched them play the Zambian league severally on television-Dstv, and they are also a good side. Their league is ongoing and so we can say that in terms of team work they should be ahead of us”, he said.
He is however convinced if Kotoko adequately prepares for the task ahead they will be able to sail through this phase of the competition.
