The maiden Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) and National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) Presidential Debate is on at the State Banquet Hall in Accra, Wednesday.
Out of the seven presidential candidates contesting in next week’s presidential election, six are present in this debate.
They include Presidential Candidates of governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), President John Mahama, Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, and National Democratic Party (NDP)’s Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings.
The rest are an Independent Candidate, Joseph Osei Yeboah, People’s National Convention (PNC)’s Edward Mahama, and Convention People’s Party (CPP)’s Ivor Greenstreet of the CPP. .
Missing in action is the leader of the biggest opposition party Nana Akufo-Addo NPP.
All of them are eying one position to be president but they have to convince Ghanaians first for the votes.
They have tried through campaign tours but is time to answer questions of how they intend to solve the challenges facing the country.
The debate is moderated by Mr Dan Afari Yeboah and Selikem Acolatse all of GBC.
The six candidates take the opportunity to introduce themselves officially to Ghanaians and why they want to occupy the highest position of the presidency.
